Wasn't "Deep Shit" originally a comic book, drawn by Rockman, telling the story of the JAMMs in 1987? Maybe the flexi was meant to come packaged with it (in 1988, yes). It seems this idea of a "Deep Shit" comic morphed into a "White Room" art exhibition, which itself morphed into the movie (dismissing all that "Eternity wrote a Contract" stuff for a minute, and looking at the guys motivation). Presumably, Bill's "fuck that pop shit, what we want is some deep shit" line comes from the original (1988), and then at some point in 1989 they were pissing around with it and created a new version featuring KSTJ. Maybe it was even going to be one of the many promotional devices for the genuine single, until KSTJ stiffed, out there in the cold, harsh real world. I once spoke to someone who dealt with Drummond via Rough Trade in 1989, and he said that ALL of the KLF's plans (no masterplan, my arse) had to be torn down when the single stayed out of the top 100. The exact quote was something like "Bill said 'We had all this great ideas about what to do next, how to built on it, and no fucker bought the single!'" The sudden withdrawal of the White Room soundtrack in late 1989, and the movie, has always looked to me a bit like a giant musical huff. Maybe the dissappearance of "Deep Shit" (for a second time) in late 1989 was part of this. Great thought "Chill Out" was, wasn't it also the sound of hurt prides and licked wounds?

.. I think the KSTJ samples are too late for it to be Part I. Deep Sh*t pt I was originally scheduled for 88 I think. KSTJ didn't come out till 89.

This is what I've always thought was "Deep Shit".
And I thought this is Part I, not III :) This is because I already had this, but labeled as a Part I.
