Hello, I promised this conversation weeks ago, now here it is. My first recollection of ever hearing of Love Trance was from a Record Collector magazine ad back in 1994 or 1995. Someone who had worked at the pressing plant claimed to have at least one copy they were selling for a huge sum. I believe somebody on this list bought it. Fast forward to 2001/2002. One 12" went for sale on ebay and I had the cash to buy, but was beat out on the final bid by a a person with a faster Internet connection (I only had dial-up at the time). However, this person had access to a professional studio and sold me a pro transfer CD-R of it at cost which was really cool of them. Fast-forward to late 2005. I again had some cash and wanted an original. I put out a call on the list and a very well known, very long-time list member offered to sell me his copy as he was digitizing his collection and wanted the money for other purposes. I won't say who but he's welcome to chime in if he likes. I don't remember what I paid, but it was probably around $350.00 plus costs. I received the record and played it and it sounded identical to the earlier CD-R and various other MP3s I had heard since it leaked online back in 1999 for the first time as a low bitrate MP3. Now for the details: Mine came in a generic black & white print KLF promo sleeve. The labels are white. The info on the labels are hand written in blue ink pen. Side A says "A L-Trance" and side b says "B New Mix". Here's where it get's a little sketchy: The run-out groove on side a is hand written and says "KLF006T-A-" and the run-out on side b is also hand written and says "KLF006T-B-" There is no mention of "Adrenaline" which was reported to be on the two or three copies that surfaced earlier. I contacted the seller about this, he swore up and down it was legit, and offered to refund my money plus costs if I wished to mail it back. Once again, this guy is a long time, very trusted member of the list and I don't remember what the details were, but it probably came down to whomever originally pressed the thing realized what he had when the band broke-up and banged out a few more off the books. The sound on mine is 10 out of 10 and not one of those ridiculous multi-colored things that started surfacing on ebay a few years back. Of course, since then a completely different version has surfaced which may be an earlier version, the remix 12", or even something else. One may obtain that version by subscribing to a service I will append to the end of this email (which I am not affiliated with and make nothing from, just provided to interested parties as a service). For the record I think that the version on my 12" is official even though after many discussions over the years the community seems to be evenly split. I also think that the new version that has surfaced is also official but a radically different mix. I further feel it's possible that "Kylie Said Trance" which is labeled "Pure Trance" on the KSTJ 12" could be "Turn-Up The Strobe" retitled and that Madrugda Eterna was also considered "Pure Trance." I think it's fair to say that more than five Pure Trance recordings were made perhaps with the intention of releasing a Pure Trance LP after the late surprise success of WTIL and 3AM but that "Chill-Out" and the free form nature of what the KLF were doing satisfied this urge. I have heard whisperings of at least three other Pure Trance recordings in existence but only time will tell if this is indeed true. I've not heard them and know nothing about them...only rumors. It's amazing what continues to slip-out after 20 years. I find it exciting really. Information on how to obtain the latest "Love Trance" below. My version is all ready out there if you know where to look and have been paying attention.
