that is quite unbelievable and why did they have to pay a fine ??
I don't believe there was a "legal" fine as such. KLF Communication's bank (Barclays I think) charged them several thousand for the cost of re-printing the million quid they nailed to a board. This is because they took the money back to the bank to be re-deposited. Whereas the million quid they burned never made it's way back to the bank, therefore no reprint, it's gone for good. I don't know what the UK law is regarding defacing/destroying money, but think about this; has anyone been procescuted for using one of those coin stamping machines in tourist spots? Mark H
