Best of compilations
So, I decided to listen to some KLF, which I haven't listen to in a while, while I did some work around the house and couldn't decide what to play. I realized I had never made a compilation of personal faves like I have for most other artists I'm addicted to. Thinking it over, I realized it's almost impossible without being extremely repetitive. For example, I would want the Last Train Gridlock mix on it, but then I would also want the full Lost Continent mix, and then Go to Sleep would be a must have. That's a lot of Last Train. For What Time is Love I'd use the Different Project megamix of that, and the Land of Oz version... that alone is something close to 20 mins. 35 mins of the disc is already used up by two songs. Has anyone else here put together a best of compilation for their own personal enjoyment? I'd be interested to see what you included on it. -paul

my solution was to get an iPod - i've got my entire cd collection on there, 14gb worth, and i just play it on random. sometimes it plays klf, sometimes it's something like leonard cohen - but because i only put my favourite tracks on there by each artist, i'm never disapointed with the tracks that come up. and if i feel specifically like a bit of klf, then i can choose to only play klf tracks but i think it changes your attitude towards music when you are carrying around every single track you'd ever want to listen to in your pocket. it's a bit strange -- --- "Life is bigger, bigger than you and you are not me. I compiled a 20 track compilation that goes from Ambient to Stadium House, Moody Boys mixes, Heavyweight Jam (IGUN, America, ...) and finally some B Sides. The tracks themselves fade into each other where it fits well, others break into the next mix (the track change from LTTT lp mix to 3 a.m. eternal is excellent). I guess I will redo this compilation some day in the future, putting in some more Scourge remixes here and there. --- Thomas Touzimsky "Some millennia, you should better stay in bed."

I have made different compilations over the years starting off with putting all WTIL and 3am mixes etc, on one comp which quite quickly became a little overwhelming to say the least. Although I still like listening to all the Kylie mixes, especially the slow hard versions, reminds me of my acid days. Since getting a computer and being able to download and burn onto disc I can now make more varied comps and include fan and dj mixes e.g. razormaid etc. It also makes it easier to change them when I want. Mike PS I still find all the different mixes of LTTT really exciting even after all these years __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
