I have been encoding lots of old cassettes onto my Mac and i came across a cassette that i was sent about 7 years ago from a guy i used to buy KLF records from. This is what he wrote on the cassette: "Dat recording of private tapes by klf/orb recorded in tracnetral on sat 26.8.89 and at a private party in the same year in brighton" Its mainly late 80's acid house with 3am Blue Danube and A Huge Evergrowing.... as recurring themes throughout. its obviously just a DJ mix but i dont know anythign about it. some pretty poor mixing on it too! hehehe :) i dont know if it is legit or not as i only have the cassette with the above written on it. download it here: http://s23.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0EYTZDXL082SK26AGIZ97BH9M8 anybody know anything about that date? might be interesting to try to find out what it is. unfortunately the quality is pretty poor Ronnie --------------------------------- To help you stay safe and secure online, we've developed the all new Yahoo! Only had the chance to hear LX Patterson actually mix vinyl once, at a party in SF probably around 94 or so. Piss poor mixing, I have to admit. So bad that the crowd was reacting so negatively that he flipped a few people off. Very shocking, given SFs ambient scene at the time. -s- _____ From: klf-bounces+shilo101=comcast.net@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:klf-bounces+shilo101=comcast.net@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Morphy Sent: Wednesday, September 14, 2005 1:22 PM To: klf@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [KLF] KLF party mixtape I have been encoding lots of old cassettes onto my Mac and i came across a cassette that i was sent about 7 years ago from a guy i used to buy KLF records from. Ok Ive just learnt from Ronnie and uploaded the Klf? Fx Mix # 1, Ive only uploaded the a side as its the same track on both side. please also notice that the poor sound is due to the production being very rough, there is now obvious damage on the vinyl where the sound is bad for example. anyway, enjoy and let me know what you think KLF Fx Mix # 1 You can click on the following link to retrieve the file. Honestly, hard to tell. There are no typical KLF samples in there, but the bass line sounds like what Jimmy used on IGUN, Space and Blue Pearl's "Naked In The Rain"... ..::// Thomas Touzimsky The Top Five Country Songs #5 "I Still Miss You Baby, But My Aim's Gettin' Better"
Based on the sample, it seems like it may be a Bad Boy Bill record from 87 on DJ International. Nope. But that's not to say that it's not a licensed remix on an international label. Style wise, its definitely very late 80s Chicago Jack Trax kind of stuff. Likewise, if you Google the samples in the track, a number of them point to that same record. -s- -----Original Message----- From: klf-bounces+shilo101=comcast.net@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:klf-bounces+shilo101=comcast.net@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Kristian Biong Sent: Wednesday, September 14, 2005 2:50 PM To: klf@mailman.xmission.com Subject: RE: [KLF] KLF Fx Mix # 1 well, none of those are even close to the length of this track :-)
