Happy new year, everyone! Okay, a quick query I was wondering about last night ... Why wasn't "Madrugada Eterna" released as a full single? Does anyone know? If Jimmy had just "left" the Orb to concentrate on the KLF, I would imagine he would have been keen to have a single out (aside from the limited KLF8R) as well as an album, and unlike PT 3 (possibly), 4 and (again possibly) 5, we know the dance mix of "M E" was recorded, the original actually been released twice already, and a promo "acid" mix had been produced for the "White Room" film clip? I would imagine if it had come out in spring 1990, it could have done quite well against bands like Enigma and Deep Forest - who I think were releasing singles at the time ... Anyway, does anyone know why this single was pulled? What mixes would have been on it (maybe dance mix edit, dance mix, original and the "303 video edit",as it's sometimes know - or maybe that would have been the remix 12"?) Does anyone have any theories as to how the KLF's career might have been different had they had an "ambient" hit four months before WTIL? Would "Space" have gone top forty? John

http://www.millenniumeffect.co.uk/audio/tributes/timelords.html Found this while browsing. An interesting info page on "Doctorin' the Tardis" taken from a Doctor Who fan's point of view. Click on "next" and you get "Gary in the Tardis" - both are annotated exhaustively. Although the bizarre thing is, I suppose, ask who ever wrote them about "Pure Trance" or "The White Room Soundtrack" and they wouldn't care ... :) John PS - Did I see the Blue Man Group on Blue Peter earlier on today, or were they just people made up to look like them? I've always wondered what the Doctor Who fan community thought of KLF3. And I'd love a "Disembowel a Timelord" badge! Both
To take advantage of "5p listing day" all my KLF items not sold privately on the list appeared on Ebay as 10 day auctions last night. This really is pretty much the end, now. I have about 4 or 5 bits of vinyl left (including some rare, early Big in Japan stuff) that I'm wanting to master onto CD - but apart from that "everything must go". And after the KLF, bare in mind, I still have another 50 or so bits of vinyl and eight boxs of CDs - by various bands - to sell. Oh, and still have lots of KLF CD albums and singles that I'm keeping, if anyone still thinks I'm mad. My ebay name is "paranormalhandy". John
Tonight, BBC Scotland News had a small news snippet on the town of Corby, in Northamptonshire, and how they will tomorrow be celebrating Burns Night. An odd town, second generation Englishmen still talk with a Scottish accent, and you can still buy Scottish stuff in shops (like Irn Bru drinks). This was the town Bill and his dad Jack(and mum and sister, presumably) moved to in the very late 1950s, moving from the Scottish village of Newton Stewart, and Jack Drummond preached at St. Ninians Church. Anyway, this is an interesting link to the history of "Little Scotland": http://www.bbc.co.uk/northamptonshire/asop/asop/scotland.shtml I don't know much about Corby, but this "Scottish ex-pats living in England" atmosphere intrigues me. Anyone know anything about the town? John
