Was bored the other night and was watching that TMF channel on freeview in the UK - all the number ones of the 80's... Was hoping to catch Doctor in the Tardis, but instead, noticed in the Yazz video, there's a KLF record on the turntable... I know that Coldcut were part of the Yazz set up, but I didn't know there was any link to the KLF? Anybody know better?
I've looked this one up before and have never really come across a proper explanation. It's mentioned in the FAQs at klf.de though .. maybe it was simply a "nod" to Bill & Jimmy ... http://www.klf.de/faq/index.php?category_id=7#70 <http://www.klf.de/faq/index.php?category_id=7#70>Chief 2009/10/20 Alan Rogerson <alan.rogerson1@gmail.com>

I think it might be just the fact that the dance scene in London in 1986/7 was a fairly small clique, and everyone knew everyone else - Bill & Jimmy, Matt & Jonathan from Coldcut, Yazz herself, the Beatmasters (who featured two Ford Timelords in a video), etc etc. Plus there were links via Stock, Aitken and Waterman with Jimmy and Yazz ... ... I've often tried to work out what KLF record is on the decks. It's got a white label (but isn't actually a white label, if you see what I mean) so is probably "Doctorin' The Tardis" (if the timescale's right). The whole thing might be massive reciprocal joke/nod to the "Doctor In the House" pun title ... The truth is, though, I'm only guessing. Sadly, a full bio of those times in London squats and flats will probably never get a proper biography ... On Tue, Oct 20, 2009 at 2:54 PM, chief dejaya <dejaya@gmail.com> wrote:

Ya know, it's a little like "What Time Is Love?" from the KLF days...just the same riff over and over again. Danny T. Yes, sounds like he's just decided to bring the title of the paperback in line with all his other numerically-titled books (One, Million, 45, 17, and now 20,000).
