They don't really have a huge fan base now. I'm referring to the 1992 when they were at the height of their career. I really wouldn't doubt that the money lost in first 5 years amounted to several million GBP, but I could be wrong. Is there a music industry resource that tracks the number of units sold and money made from albums and singles? We have one for the computer gaming industry so I assume there must be something out there for music.
