Hi, Andy, I wonder if more discussion on this book might result in a resurgence of interest, and a possible reprint? Since it came out in '93 there has been an avalanche of books on dance music, most of which haven't been as good, or have honed in on bizarre musical choices - Jane Busman's "Once in a Lifetime" and its obsession with Flowered Up, for example; "Weekending" accepted, they never seemed zeitgeist-grabbing to me. And this radio play based on "The Manual" sounds intriguing, Angus. How did you manage to get involved in writing the sleeve notes - and also, is it still available to buy? I can barely speak a word of German, but I bought "Das Handbuch" just because it was the first record CD album since 1991 to feature the pyramid blaster logo! I take it it's downloadable from Robb's ftp, yes? Talking of the ftp, within the next week I hope you have uploaded the whole of "The Man", including b-sides to the 7" and 12" of "King of Joy" along with three Triffids albums from 1986-7. The Triffids were, of course, Bill Drummond's backing band on most of the tracks on "The Man" - and Graham "Evil" Lee, the band's guitarist, went on to appear on "Chill Out", "Madrugada Eterna" and "The White Room". Hope you enjoy them! John
I could scan in the liner notes if there's any interest. The cd is already on rob's ftp. -----Original Message----- From: klf-bounces+mwalczak=speakeasy.net@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:klf-bounces+mwalczak=speakeasy.net@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of John Milne Sent: Thursday, April 29, 2004 2:57 AM To: klf@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [KLF] Re: Will Pop Eat Itself? Do you know that there was a single that was produced for that "Top Hit leicht gemacht" CD? It was a minor hit in Germany (entered the charts at #34 I think) and was called "I can see it in your eyes", the project's name was Milton. Of course it has credits for Bill & Jim in the sleeve!

Yep, the CD is still in print. Though the cover looks awful, mostly yellow with strange cartoon-like drawings on it. BUT there is an interview with Bill & Jimmy in the booklet (14 pages) that Mr. Plamper has exclusively done for this CD! Really worth a reading! I'll translate it into English till friday if it's not too long... ;) Cheers, Dan --- a.k.a. Kuta, KLF Online (www.klf.de)
