I don't want to be a bitch about this, but what has this to do with the list?
Simple enough. A lot of people don't actually know what a 99 is. I'm sure if I took a poll around my office right now no one here (US) would have the slightest idea. Maarten asked to see what one looked like and a number of people posted links to pictures. Hardly something to get upset about. It's even mildly on topic. Now if somone started discussing the history of the 99, then ok.... :) -paul Currently in rotation: Me First and the Gimme Gimmes - Take a Break; Best of the Get Back Sessions (editing); Jan and Dean - All the Hits

I know it's took me a while to reply. I didn't get the original posts from Maarten due to my really stupid isp's mailserver (ie my own mailserver). I have experimented with running my own DNS, Mail and Http from my own ADSL service and have found innumerable problems. My only defence is that I didn't get the posts that were asking about the 99, and I only got what seemed to be a totally obscurious post which seemed to point to a few pics of a 99 and the history of it. I bow to all list members that I may have offended with my original negative post, and offer to buy anyone a 99 ice-cream. That is , anyone that tracks me down to Stones pub (ask Ben, Ian or Simon behind the bar to point out Andy) in the centre of Cannock and personally says I owe them an ice cream - or a beer (I know at least one list member lives in Stafford - the beers are on me if u claim your prize!) Consider my post retracted. I hadn't ever thought about the 99 being a uk thing. I feel bad for anyome who has never experienced the delights of a dry, cripsy cone, perfectly whipped ice-cream, a Cadburys(tm)Flake and Raspberry sauce on a hot Summers evening. Even now in the deepest, darkest winter days, that thought conjures up the best things about summer. Regards Andrew
