New book with KLF bits in it
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Faking-Quest-Authenticity-Popular-Music/dp/057122659... "Faking It - The Quest For Authenticity in Popular Music" by Hugh Barker and Yuval Taylor. According to last month's "Q", it contains an assessment of "the multi-dimensional pranksterism of the KLF". Probably not up there with Jeremy J. Beadle, but might be worth a look. Oh, and talking of faking it, anyone else see the documentary on the "new" version of Sgt. Pepper filled with pointless identical-sounding covers from "new" bands (i.e., ones from 5-10 years ago, and Bryan Adams)? This lead me to think, what if similar projects were launched for the KLF - who would people like to see cover their songs? Since it's practically dead on here at the moment, why not have a Fantasy Cover Versions thread??? Here's my list for 1987: (1) Hey Hey We Are Not The Monkees by Arab Strap (2) Don't Take Five (Take What You Want) by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (3) Rockman Rock (Parts 2 and 3) by the National Ukelele Orchestra (4) Me Ru Con by Amy Winehouse (5) The Queen And I by Scooch (6) All You Need Is Love by Oasis (7) Next by the Divine Comedy And The White Room (1) What Time is Love by Orbital (2) Make It Rain by Kate Bush (3) 3 AM Eternal by the Proclaimers (4) Church of the KLF by Arcade Fire (5) Last Train to Trancentral by the Boards of Canada (6) Build a Fire by Shellac (7) The White Room by Julian Cope (just to see if he would do it in a krautrock style) (8) No More Tears by the Fall (9) Justified and Ancient by Kylie Minogue No Scooter allowed! :)
