This came up earlier this year and after a flurry of discussion nothing really happened. While DVD writers and media are getting cheaper, doing a good encode of the data is another entirely. (Ever compared the quality of a good/expensive Kung Fu DVD to some el cheapo version of an obscure early Jackie Chan film? The source material is not always entirely to blame!)
yeah that's true. I look at this as a long term process, that means in the first stage we take what we get in the quality we get it and release a 1.0 version of the DVD. I guess within month/years we would find more things to add and maybe we can replace some versions with better quality versions too. So we could release a V2, v2.1 and so on.
There's no way to avoid somebody doing a lot of work for videos like The White Room or Waiting, but quite a few of the videos have already been transferred to DVD. (See http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1562823456, plus there are a number of DJ Service DVDs now available with KLF videos.) If somebody had access to these then the .VOB files could be ripped directly and put on to a compilation DVD.
would be an option but I don't feel like buying all of them right now :) any volunteers? ;-)) However if anyone got one of them already I can provide some FTP on a very fast connection to collect them. I don't yet have a DVD burner but I'm quite sure there are people with burners on this list!?
The discography lists them all, doesn't it? http://www.klf.de/discography
yeah I hoped there is a shorter list available :-)) cu Adrian -- Adrian Gschwend @ OS/2 Netlabs ICQ: 22419590 ktk@netlabs.org ------- The OS/2 OpenSource Project: http://www.netlabs.org
