Well, that must have been a big shock. I've always been scared that would
happen. Rule one, never tell people that you're a big fan/collector of vinyl
(or other collections). Most of the times these things happen when someone
knows what you're doing.The records probabely end up on ebay.

Maybe a good opportunity to locate the items and once you've won the
auction, locate the bastard, send the nearest listmember to "collect" your
record(s) back and kick some ass.
I'll be happy to bid.
