www.michaelk.co.uk on here, although probably totally unrelated the front page shows various pictures in a flash movie. In the bottom right corner it has a snail thing and says 1997/ 1993 and then a bigger logo over the top comes clear as the image zooms out.. it is very similar to the bad company logo (drum and bass act)http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2576874968&category =14216 What was the story behind the PO Box? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Raymond Baal" <raymondbaal@yahoo.co.uk> To: "All bound for Mu-Mu Land." <klf@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Sunday, November 30, 2003 9:16 AM Subject: [KLF] X$X- Legend, Myth, Whaat?
Hi again...thanks 4 info on Alternate Jams. Will follow this up and post 2 the xdollarx group. There have been loads of suggestions as to Michael K's aliases and collaborators obviously but a guy on the xdollarx group, blystery, has connections with Metalheadz and the Medicine club near the Foundry in London. He says that most recently, Kemistry of Metalheadz told him that K is working with Peter Cunnah (of D:Ream fame about 10 years ago) as LocDawn and OverRide for a bunch of Drum and Bass mixes that may resurface as the new X$X singles (my theory). Somewhere in the xdollarx archive, there's something about Peter Cunnah and Michael K...was looking but couldn't find it just now. Cunnah's D:Ream was originally a very underground-cred outfit before going pop (in more ways than six). Seems to me that K is committed to defying pigeonholes by just doing whatever.
There's so much coming at me just now on X$X Ireally need a week to draw it together. It seems to happen that way...somplete silence and then blitzkriegs. What I'd really like to get my hands on are the radio promos from 2001 and the (new) radio promos that aired on radio Merseyside in the past month according to reliable sources.
have also been hearing more on supposed connections with cauty and Blacksmoke but taking this easy as there was a lot of confusion about K's DJ dates a while back in Holland with (rather than AS) Kid Vicious.
As u can tell, I'm running low on processing time for my course and X$X.

aware of their activities (or at least the shadow of their activities) many years ago too...i'm sure there was a bunch of gigs/events in Bristol in the early-mid 90s as I remember the posters and thinking...huh? Do they still use the 'shop-putting' method of distribution for their 'music'? =)
But some of that other info is intriguing...I always thought there wasn't a 'real' Michael K and that was the point. It always kind of annoyed but fascinated me! Maybe I should contact Culf but I think he was a little too cryptic last time I asked hehe.
Perhaps there is a connection with the JAMs AKA The Alternate Jams who until recently could be found on mp3.com and were supposed to be concocting an 'album' called 2987...the last track they made available was 'NAO (Not Another Orgasm)' and was quite...literal. Fits in with the whole Michael K as Porn Baron thing anyway =)

'Michael K' (the proper one not one of his "clones") has been active on a number of portals as 'Excess Sex' and 'XSX' and seems to have been building some kind of harem :) I'm not currently running the yahoo group on X$X I set up and its traffic was devastated by a stupid mistake I made when I did but there's someone new doing it who recently interviewed K and is in exclusive possession of a whole load of new stuff because she's doing a series of articles and possibly a book on K/X$X. The whole thing has been going for at least 10 years now and from what I've heard is a pretty compelling story of subterranean activity punctuated by occasional surfacings. The problem at the moment is that K has asked us to hold fire until the starting pistol is fired as it were. But let's just say that the era of X$X as 'vapourware' is about to end. I suggest keeping an eye on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/xdollarx and www.michaelk.co.uk
I'll keep the list posted as much as i can meantime.

them other than the one on Rob Stringer's ftp (which is incomplete and has Mr Peel yakking at the beginning)? Can't find any material on the various sites connected with them but maybe I just ain't looking hard enough! xdollarx.co.uk was down last time i checked anyway. I'm sure they did a bunch of stuff that merited some mentions in the NME/Melody Maker years ago, and I don't just mean their 'cover' of The Black Room =)
If anyone has other stuff could they upload somewhere or mail me, thanx. Perhaps I should try mailing michaelk@hotmail.com ...but don't hit that link hehe.

it is the words of X$X that are scrawled upon the wall
Possibly yesteryears news, but...
X$X ... X5X ... (X = 10)... 10 5 10... 5 5 5 5 5... 5x5.... 5X5... $X$
Or is that just me...?
