I'll second the Laphroaig tip, Bowmore Islay malt is nice too! Is it Jura that just has an Abbey or Nunnery on it and little else or is that another Hebride entirely? Or is this all a bit OT? =) John Milne <john@highlandland.fsnet.co.uk> wrote:
Whiskey from the Isle of Jura. I was briefly amused but didn't buy it to try it. Anyone had any?
Er, well, I have, but I suppose that's not surprising! Jura is a famous whisky-producing island, and its malts have a particularly peaty flavour. However, Jura's sister isle of Islay is even more famous for making whisky. My personal favourite is Laphroaig (pronounced "la-froig") which is distilled on Islay. Jura has a malt called "The Isle of Jura", which can be found here: http://www.isleofjura.com/ Slainte! John PS - Scots whisky, unlike the Scottish rave scene, never has an "e" in it. _______________________________________________ KLF mailing list KLF@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/klf --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
