Interesting stuff, just going to check out some of this guy's work. So "the KLF" was recorded in 1989? An instrumental version then? Hmmm

John there is definitely an old clip of BIJ performing live on stage, kinda blurry, like a really bad camcorder clip...not sure how much Bill featured but I remember an odd-looking Holly Johnson and Broudie prancing around. I thought it was actually part of some KLF TV thing (like the Omnibus documentary) but it might have actually been something to do with Frankie

In this month's "Uncut" there's an interview with Ian Broudie from the Lightning Seeds, illustrated with lots of photos from various stages in his career (Big in Japan, Care, etc). In reference to one picture, he talks about a promo video for the Big in Japan track "Cindy and the Barbie Dolls". If anyone has ever seen the blurred Big in Japan group photo, with Bill Drummond wearing a nappy, in the inner sleeve of the "From the Shores of Lake Placid" LP, then that shot is apparently taken from the video shoot.

Basically, has anyone ever seen this video - as presumably, it would be the earliest film of Kingboy in a band?

John

Uh, sorry John I never clocked and answered before,

it is called 'Rock Family Trees' and it was a TV doco series from
sometime in the mid 90s, based on the famous book of the same name  and
it has interviews with Drummond and Broudie and others and lots of
pretty funny footage of Frankie and Pete Burns and stuff. I have the
whole thing on VHS. No idea what the other episodes were, I only have
the Liverpool episode.

That's the fucker!

Good show that, I think it had an uber-camp Frankie playing 'Relax' live on The Tube, pre-Trevor Horn...a clip that is always cited when people claim Horn was solely responsible for their sound and success
