Well then it looks like it was intentional. I suppose the next question is was it a pressing plant thing or B&J experiment? 
I suspect we will never know.

Yes, if it plays from centre to outside.  I was always after funny ways of cutting vinyl, or coloured vinyl etc. and my mastering engineer told me about swapping cogs around in a certain type of cutting lathe.  This makes the cog which usually winds the needle across the record go the other way.  You cant do it by accident.
