I heard something a long time ago about the beeb making public their archives, including all radio sessions etc etc (though not sure about Peel sessions, believe the great man had a lot of say in those?) As far as TV clips go this is already happening in France, I can post the link here if need be, but it is veeery slow, there are thousands of clips to browse but if you look for something in particular you might be disappointed It's a shame the beeb are being a little childish about accessibility to such clips, seeing as we paid for them in the first place (and as you rightly mentioned John they often seem fit to record over thousands of hours of priceless material with reference to whom?) they should put up and shut up in the meantime, until they get this fabled archive sorted In some ways the BBC is rightly seen as a British Institution but this shouldn't make it untouchable, indeed it needs one hell of a shake-up of its administration and the way it (mis)uses the British public's money OK rant over tbc. Recent news stories about Youtube, coming from the Beeb, suggest they are V pissed off at their old content being shown for free of the site (of course, they like to keep all their own old historical broadcasts, and occasionally wipe them in acts of cultural vandalism).
