I get the impression that apart from this list Mr. Simon Whatever does not have any other people to "talk" to ... Just look at his posts. He never keeps things simple. Always these endless rants about HIS views, HIS experiences, HIS bla bla bla ... How can a guy like him make a living? He must be absolutely frightened with what happens in this cruel world and nobody understands him. At least not on this KLF list. Please go out and look for a "what really happened" list. I s'pose you'd get a warm welcome there! ;) Simon, do me a favour and leave your personal stuff out of here. Makes things much simpler. And I know that I'm not the only one that thinks like that on this list.
he's right, there is no 'opinion' or 'i think' about the sham that is the US election. I cant be arsed to explain why but if you really wanna know check out michael moore's stupid white men. Its bollox, as are most elections. Say only 40% of people go to vote and only 25% of them vote for the party that 'wins', right thats 25% putting like 100 people in charge of millions of us! If 60% of people dont vote then no government should win, like on Brewsters Millions 'vote for none of the above'!
artists don't know exactly which persons in their audience need the lecture - presumably, the ones that don't need it shouldn't mind hearing it again, out of recognition that the word needs to get around
so, if one doesn't want to be lectured like a child, one should stop acting like one
Please, you have such a one-sided negative view of the US and world that I don't think you have the right to explain why artists do such things.
please explain where you have found ANY evidence that I have a "negative" view of the US and the world
when I call the current administration of the US unelected, that's not opinion, that's fact
maybe deep down inside you KNOW it's wrong, but can't bring yourself to say it out loud to your fellow republikans
but I certainly haven't said until now that anyone who supports the US constitution, by definition, would have to consider the current unelected regime to be "wrong"
PLUS - what would ANY view one has of the US have to do with one's ability to explain why artists create? let alone, their "RIGHT" to explain it??
how about sticking to the actual discussion:
if you don't want to be "criticized for what you believe" then take a good hard look at what you "believe" and what you support
because if you can't stand criticism to the point where you think you're above it or beyond it, then YOU ARE THE PROBLEM
I guess what i'm trying to say is it's one thing to express one's opinions about a particular issue in thier music, but it's another thing to basicly change the focus of their project into slamming whatever's the hot topic and expecting the fanbase to just accept it and agree.
basically the answer I predicted in KLF Digest, Vol 7, Issue 38: "I just demand that the artist I like read my mind and give some warning that something I don't like is coming"
;)
