Damn right I can't wait! ;-) And sorry for the assumption, Tim. A new Pure Trance-ish track is very welcome indeed!! The title's quite similar to the Rockman and LXD "Space Centre Medical Unit Hum" remix of "Lily Was Here", which was what I was basing my guess on. Can't wait for the CD! (Thought I'd just say that twice) :-) On Thu, Mar 4, 2010 at 10:01 AM, PVC <pvc@positivevoid.co.uk> wrote:
On initial listening it sounds to be Made @ 3am Coming Down Off E<http://www.positivevoid.co.uk/pvc25cd.htm>
I thought some parts sounded a little different from how I remembered them but to be honest that may just be the “YouTube-ing” process
The “chillout” stuff came from sets at Heaven and later back at Trancentral although I remember some time back a list member saying that he had created Chill Out 2 & 3 and not Cauty or Paterson
The desk-tape original that we used to release Made @ 3am came from the guy who ran Wau Mr Modo records (apologies… I forget his name) a long time friend of Jimmy and Alex and he said they would often crash back at Benio stick a tape into the desk and mess around with samples and weird sounds just making soundscapes, these tapes would then be used as a back canvas at other sessions and they would layer different sounds on top… creating a new version / mix
As for Eternal Space Cadets (Orbital Hum) – this is *not* an ambient track
The Helter Skelter Rave set was all very Pure Trance orientated… littered with an arsenal of Cauty’s samples (both familiar and new)… but definitely *not* ambient
Bet you can’t wait J

Argh! It cuts out in the middle of the beautiful reworking of the "Close Encounters" music!!! ;-)
Is this "Chill Out 2" and "Chill Out 3"? I can't remember the provenance of these recordings now. Can anyone else?
The presence of Snap samples and the breakdown from WTIL suggests its more mid-1990 than mid-winter 1989, so it's probably not outtakes from the actual CO album recording. It's possible they were made by Jimmy using the same DATs and tapes, as there are a few recordings out there that are definitely "out-takes" from his "ambient house" era ("Mommy Don't", "Made at 3 AM Coming Down Off E", WTIL (Virtual Reality), the KLF010CD version of "Madrugada Eterna") - and the upcoming "Orbital Space Cadets (Eternal Hum)" will, I'm sure, turn out to be a similar ambient mish-mash.
Hope this helps, although I know it's a bit vague! ;-)

Hi
My attention has been drawn to these youtube videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnirYDoFrXI (and there are many more)
It suggests they are outtakes from a double CD. Can anyone shed any light on what they are and if the are available anywhere
Cheers
Wavey
