the reason it is "pwn" is cos in the excitement of a game where you only have half a second to type an insult to your mates before you get gunned down yourself, it's far too easy to hit the 'p' instead of an 'o' and then it stuck and now it's far too easy to hit the 'o' by mistake and so you have to delete back and correct it and then someone rail guns you to death while you're at it
