thats not well argued you div what argument school did you go to ? the one for retarded tomato's ? it is pathetic and quite amusing but ill answer it cos im tired and i need to make my self sleepy... ok i got two million right... firstly it is not selfish to clear ones debts or have somewhere to live... that is what everyone is doing... and essential because it would be hard to help people with nowhere to live and debts.... as to what percentage of money i would give to charity if i got 2 million pounds probably a bit i dunno... maybe five pounds ?? :-) i would get myself set up so i didnt have to work again and make sure it was earning interest so i could regularly help people rather than just giving it all away at the beginning that would be nonsensical... and its not necessarily charity that i would give to i may help people personally its not just organised charities that can help people you can do it yourself via activism, direct help etc... so to finish my perfect argument the klf are fucking stupid bastards art my arse... im sure it has sparked some great conversations but im sure the money could have done other better things if they were intent on throwing it *all* away why not just give it to someone and pretend you burnt it if you really want... saying all this - i believe money should be abolished... __ kwis )) (( c[_] scuse the epenthesis ***************************** On 9 Dec 2004, at 00:36, say.map@ihug.co.nz wrote: OK say if Mr Weston had 2 million would that solve the problems with the analogy?
somehow i think you'd be just as selfish as everyone else on the planet and you'd spend it on yourself. new house, car, clear any debts or mortgage or whatever, etc etc etc and while it makes you happy - it doesn't actually do any real good for those in the world that actually need it - you might as well have burnt it all for all the good it'll do them
well argued Jai, although there is the point that when money is spent by pop stars on stupid wasteful extravagent things or if they trash cars, hotel rooms or equipment, the money is still going back into society, whereas the KLFs fire didn't share the wealth around - the money was just gone.
