I'm sure I've read something pretty concrete that confirms some of the sessions were recorded there (not all of it, by any stretch of the imagination, mind). (Seriously, there's been a few people on here over the years expressing an interest as to what Newton Stewart is "like", and it was fun to find out (in my view, though, its probably the least attractive of the picture postcard towns in that bit of Galloway). I was down in Newton Stewart yesterday, and took some photos of the Macmillan Hall, where BD recorded "The Man" back in 1986. I also spotted a sign that said "Penkiln". I've never been to that neck of the woods before (or at least, not since I was too young to appreciate it). It really is a lovely bit of Scotland, especially in the sunshine.
