Apart from "The Children's Film Foundation" there was "The Film Board of Canada", which is where the band take their name from. The one I remember most from them was the film version of Ray Bradbury's kid's-living-on-Venus short story "All Summer in a Day". Every school in the country has these movies gathering dust (and no DVD release!) John

The Children's Film Foundation...our headmaster used to dust off his projector for an evening 'film club' every week and showed a lot of CFF films, but really it was just an excuse for us to hang out with our friends or kiss our girlfriends =) 'Young Robin Hood' sticks in my mind, starring a young Keith 'Cheggers' Chegwin...the only other films of note starred a certain VW Beetle, which was the only time we actually watched...excuse me, i seem to have something in my eye...*sniff*
tbc.

One bit of an episode sticks in my mind as I thought it was cool then, but stupid now. It went something along the lines that the kids were trying to scare two con men / gangsters out of a house and one of the kids swapped the hot and cold taps over. The line went (I'm paraphrasing of course; I was only about 6 at the time):
Gangster #1: "Boss! This house is haunted - I just turned the cold tap on and got boiling hot water!" Gangster #2: "Don't be crazy! It's your imagination."
etc...
ps, Does anyone remember some short English films (something like the 'Children's Film Foundation') featuring a group of kids? Seem to recall watching these on film (of the projector sort) at school occasionally...

Not sure about Jimmy's contributions to 'Herbie'....are they variations of the original theme? And does anyone remember the Red Hand Gang? =)
