Perhaps Tim can speak out and clarify where he stands on the PVC products making their way onto the archive. It’s a double edged sword, I can appreciate both sides of this. The last thing I’d want, and I’m sure I speak for the majority, is for PVC to cease releasing the gems that come to the forefront each year. But Tim, would you mind making a clear decision on where you stand with regards to this? From: klf-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:klf-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Dan T. Again, I won't tell anyone else what they should or shouldn't do. It's "free swim" out there on the net. Besides, give the guy a chance. He's probably thinking things over... we don't know what will happen. Dan On Sep 1, 2011, at 4:45 AM, Xavier <alunare@gmail.com> wrote: I don't know why you keep talking about respecting Tim…. Guys, i respect Tim's work as much as any of you, and I've bought most of his stuff over the years to support him. Like i'm sure we all respect B&J for all their efforts and creativity in THEIR art. But if this project is to share and archive as much as B&J's KLF music as possible, then i find it completely absurd that the rarest and arguably the most important stuff will be left out !! It seems clear that we each have our convictions on this and thats fine. I can't help to feel a little bit sad though that this project will never be completed, and that people on this list will be left out because they didn't buy the PCV stuff on a particular year. I guess i should be happy for what will be shared, so let the sharing continue. Let's just not fool ourselves and call this an archive anymore….. I unfortunately don't have much to offer, and indeed no longer have a turntable (though am interested to hear if a good USB turntable does indeed exist). I share the below opinion re Tim and PVC - the guy is a pleasure to deal with, and he deserves full credit and support for what he has offered to the community over the years. I will buy 2 of any audio the guy puts out at any price and as many T-Shirts as I can afford. I would buy them all, but times are tough at Dan HQ and the wife and I are making 25% less than we were two years ago but of course expenses have risen. That's part of my motivation, to share what I was fortunate to purchase when times were good any maybe share the love with those short on entertainment bucks. I've done business with PVC for 15 years, corresponded with him, and had a great online relationship. He's an honest dealer, does it all for love, and spends what little proceeds he makes to sponsor cool things for people. If he wants to stay out of what's happening that's fine with me. I have no desire to implicate him, screw with his operation, put him in a bad spot etc. that's why I won't share his stuff. BUT, unlike a few others on the list I don 't feel I have superior insight, intelligence, or judgement. If others disagree they know how to find Mediafire, they could easily share ANYTHING from ANYONE and I wouldn't object or call them to task...this isn't North Korea after all. HOWEVER, I do politely request that people show restraint when it comes to the in print things and the PVC stuff. People still make money off the in print things and PVC has worked his ass off to create something special. Again, not a lecture or commandment from a superior intelligence, just a request and opinion from one list member to others. Do what you will, I won't bad mouth anyone, please just consider the time and effort others have put in first...and also where their heart is. Thanks for your time. Another cool upload coming in an hour or so!
