True, as with the FGTH stuff, proper fans had most if not all the stuff anyway, but it's those not as dedicated to us.
Also, there are quite a few tracks which have not yet appeared on CD. Plus the opportunity to get tracks on cds that aren't subject to decay.

True, but it was also on video so edit's would be more obvious (not that I've studied it closely or anything).
It's also possible that she practiced singing along with the completed version of the song so singing along with the backing track for a new vocal would have come easier.
And I believe you are right about the timing - slowing/speeding up slightly to get it to match rings a bell.
