Question is, has anyone out there sold off their collections and later regretted it? I'm seriously in two minds about selling but don't see the point of the stuff gathering dust when it could be buying my imminent bundle of joy a better cot or push chair.
While I don't have an answer I understand your delima. I've occasionally looked in the Archives and wondered if I should just compile all the rarities (say all my KLF singles) onto a series of CDRs and just sell the originals. I mean, when was the last time I pulled out my Kylie Remix 12"? Stick it on CDR and sell it. I think I would keep cool stuff like an original 1987, etc. Ultimately, tho, I just like having them around. Plus I enjoy occasionally sending my wife a link to an outrageous auction to aid her understanding. :) It is good to know, tho, that if we ever faced some financial disaster I could sell some of this stuff and make a quick couple of bucks. If you do decide to sell, I'd make a backup archive. Convert the wav files to shn or flac or some other lossless compression and stick em on a couple of DVD-Rs. I also use PAR2 to make recovery files in case one of the files gets damaged. -paul Currently in rotation: Sparks - various
