Haha! I remember the Fnord archive!! Good work that man.

I too am also a keen follower of Bill’s writing. If you ever get the chance, go and see him talk, he talks in exactly the same style as he writes.

Hi

If you recognize my name, congratulations. I've been a member of this list back since the mid-90s. I did most of my postings '95-'98. Since then I have been an "active lurker", with a few stray appearances. I have also had mail correspondence and record trading with a few members off-list.

I am very happy to see the level of activity that has recently come to the list. I think I will still be a lurker most of the time, but I just wanted to say hi to those who remember me.

If you don't remember my name, you might remember the Fnord FTP archive, AFAIK the first time "we" got together to provide a high quality digital archive for the list members. It was set up and maintained by me and off-list KLF fan Sponk.

Here is some nostalgia/history for you: http://www.klf.de/home/?p=45835 (yes, go there!). Those were the days when it was a quite complicated affair to properly rip a CD, MP3 encoding of an album took many hours even with a fast computer, and many computers did not have the processing power to play higher bitrate MP3s. Most people had not even heard of "MP3" by then. We (me and Sponk) were on the emerging "scene" of MP3 groups, trying to make the world see the greatness of the format. And how could we not combine that with our love of the music of The KLF and related acts.

I am most thankful that so many people have been roused and want to help provide a new archive for the list members. It has already enabled me to hear some tracks for the first time which are not just long sought after curiosities but actually really good and enjoyable pieces of music!

In other B&J productions of the new millennium I must state that I really really like Bill's writing, and also some of his art work. I was very happy to meet him in performance art circumstances here in Gothenburg last year. I've not kept as updated with Jimmy's work, IMO his art is nice though not so interesting to me, but enjoyed the Transit Kings album.

So, hi to those that remember me, thanks to all those that help create and maintain the archive. Maybe it will not be so many years until the next de-lurk!

/Kristoffer

P.S. Extra thanks to PVC for some great products, especially the superb quality grey hoodie that is the envy of many who see it. Still haven't gotten around to getting on your mailing list though, old friend Sponk tips me off.

P.P.S. I don't remember your name, but a very friendly guy in the UK helped me get hold of the Kalevala singles. I sent some money for the singles and the CD. The 7"s took their time and the CD was looking more and more like not happening, so you sent me all 7"s that were releases so far, all but "Aurora Borealis", and would send the last one + the CD when the CD was done. Actually I think I still have your letter that you sent with the 7"s. Well, as we know the CD never happened. If you're still there, and if you still have my copy of the 7" Aurora Borealis lying around, I would be very happy to get it. - Note that this is no criticism of this unnamed guy who was most helpful to me!

P.P.P.S. Xmission archive doesn't seem to have the early years(?) and klf.de is a bit troublesome in the interface, could this - http://www.klf.de/home/?p=44488 - be my first post?
