I dont think that they really wanna be the KLF, to me sampling another band is showing rezpect to it. KLF admitted to stole from the PSB disco album grooves and shit, I never saw any credit for that and for a lot of other riffs also, unless I need to refresh my memory.
Well maybe Scooter should start branching out a little and paying respect to *other* people except the KLF...?! Sampling goes on all the time. However most of it is from diverse sources and subtle enough that often it goes unnoticed or unchallenged ("What Time Is Love" borrowing a riff from "Jesus Christ Superstar" for example). The reason that Scooter get on the nerves of KLF fans is that they directly, regularly, and unimaginatively sample large and easily recognisable chunks and ideas from Drummond & Cauty, and not enough credit is given, all things considered. Scooter have sampled or quoted the KLF so many times now that it's gone beyond respect, it's taking the piss. It's become very clear that they don't have any ideas of their own.
