I'm likely to agree with you there. Sadly, it seems that the 5.1 music
format was practically stillborn, with a few notable exceptions.
Anyone looking to really hear with the format can do should really check out
the DVD-A release of The Flaming Lips "Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots".
While the mix may be a bit gimmicky at moments, it really explores what the
format can do.

DVD-Audio is yet to be explored in any way, I think. The BBC recently
released its first radio show on the format (the first new series of
"Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy") - and if 5.1 can be used for anything it
must be (a) ambient music and (b) radio drama (both of which collide with
Arthur Dent and his galacic wanderings!)
