I would have thought there is a potential problem with taking the audio from CD, in that promo videos often use an exclusive audio edit, often different to all CD versions including the standard 'radio edit'. Even if it differs by just a few seconds or a verse or chant of 'Mu Mu' this would make the two impossible to synchronise. I know they aren't always different, but I remember getting a copy of 'Indie Top 20' on video years ago which included the 'Kylie' promo...but the sound was f***ed. I tried dubbing various edits of the track onto the VHS tape but none would quite 'fit'. I'm quite happy to be corrected on this subject, and it may be that all the old video promos use the standard radio edit including Kylie (in which case I was doing something wrong or there was a difference in pitch/speed between the two but I know for a fact that with other bands the video edit is slightly different. From what I have seen so far... (again, The Work only) PRO - The picture. Incredible! Just compare the lousy J&A avi version with the one on this DVD - you will be blown away! CON - The sound. Ok, nice idea to have the complete original material on DVD, but why did no one think about overdubbing the superior picture with sound directly from CD ? Especially the low frequencies on IGUN are all washed up. (Madrugada Eterna being an exception of course) What remains is a cool addition to every fan's collection and finally a good reason to throw away those old Video CDs everyone made for themselves. The sound isn't as good as the picture, given that the original creator wanted to preserve all the original material. Maybe a suggestion for a further version... :-) A complete review will follow as soon as I watched both of them. --- Thomas Touzimsky _______________________________________________ KLF mailing list KLF@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/klf --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
