Did you see that [OT] in the subject? Just checking.... On Tue, Jun 10, 2003 at 10:27:01AM +0200, Martijn Melenhorst wrote:
Solution: use mutt (www.mutt.org)
Haha! From which ice-age does this program originate? Holy crap, my old Amiga had better GUIs than this. Thanks for a good laugh (can't believe it's even still being developed). By the way, GTK 2 has been released now for a long time, what, even GTK 1 ! Or Windows, by the way. or BeOS. Or anything else that can present a modern interface everybody knows how to use.
Ooooh, now you've got me riled ;-) mutt is a great program! Your old amiga had a built in GUI - mutt works on the command line. Can you tell me how to use a gtk2 app over ssh (without X11-forwarding)? "up"grading to windoze (or the defunct BeOS) is an even funnier suggestion than Loki's original reply! I hate many modern interfaces, particularly for mail programs (ever used Lotus Notes?) and don't want to use an interface "everybody knows how to use" because that usually means meeting some braindead microsoft design that stops you doing anything useful. So blrrrrrp! ;-P Compared with its peers (pine, elm) mutt is leagues ahead in terms of clean interface and powerful features.
Thanks for a good laugh :)
I found Loki's post very funny, but not because mutt is a joke program! flame on... jon (command line geek) -- There are only 10 types of people in the world - Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
