Well, as with many things KLF we'll never know the truth but I find it fun to discuss nonetheless! "Ladies & Gentlemen, Elvis has now left the building" was a common well-known phrase in 70s popular culture so I don't find it beyond possibility that the KLF considered this an in-joke for years. The pressed Love Trance also contains some of the samples contained in "Space." Something else to consider is that B&J weren't the only people involved with The KLF, it's possible someone from the offuce dropped this track off at the pressing plant before B&J changed their minds about releasing it. It is rumored that B&J considered releasing the second disc of "Shag Times" seperately as an LP called "Towards the Trance" but these JAMs remixes are still a long way from WTIL and 3 AM so I think a proper Pure Trance LP would have been closer to "Chill Out" or "Waiting." In fact, I think "Waiting" was originally intended to be a techno album entitled "Gate" but the plan changed. Again, just fun to discuss :-) Dan On Sep 12, 2011, at 2:20 AM, Antti Lavio <antti.lavio@possu.org> wrote:

For the record I think that the version on my 12" is official even though after many discussions over the years the community seems to be evenly split. I also think that the new version that has surfaced is also official but a radically different mix.
It could be a 006R remix like 008R. Or an early demo, as it is quite long and could something that Jimmy is just fiddling around with.
As for the more polished vinyl version, as it clearly has a connection to Love Trance, I still don't believe it's a "original". An why? Because I don't think they planned "KLF has left the building" thing already back in 1988 and it doesn't have any samples or loops from other releases (as "demo" version has horse sounds for an example).
But this has been debated over and over before.. :)
I further feel it's possible that "Kylie Said Trance" which is labeled "Pure Trance" on the KSTJ 12" could be "Turn-Up The Strobe" retitled and that Madrugda Eterna was also considered "Pure Trance."
I think we have heard them all, in one form or an another.
3AM = 3AM WTIL = WTIL Love Trance = Love Trance E-train = Last Train 008R or Go To Sleep Turn-up the Strobe = Kylie Said Trance
were made perhaps with the intention of releasing a Pure Trance LP
I always thought that 2nd disc/vinyl of Shag Times was supposed to be Pure Trance LP.
