What? No Blacksmoke in the list?
Well, let's see: I think Jimmy is the greatest for what he's done on KLF and Space. But as Blacksmoke....I thought the Gimpo Gimpo track ruled, till I heard the "F*** the f***ing f****ers" track. It's the SAME. And worse, it's a clear rip-off from Netalluica's "Enter Sandman". This re-mix/re-edit or anything was done by the Utah Saints, who did a track called "Power To The Beats", mixed together Metallica plus Chuck D. from Public Enemy, to a much higher effect. Blacksmoke isnt my music, I think. Or maybe six r seven years later I'll recognize it's a twisted genius' work... Electrix Six rules but I didn't bought their album, it wasn't as "big" to me as the latest Shivaree release... Let's see again, that Eletric Six:Danger High Voltage kinda stuff was done by Revolting Cocks on "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy". It has averything that the E6 track: saxophone solo, nonsense lyrics and production. Though Eletric Six's clips always made me laugh more than RevCo's music, I must admit. But now I have become more of a bitter cynic so I only buy weird music like Shivaree, Negativland and so on... And for a good laugh I always turn to the JAMs, especially "Whitney" or "Downtown". The 1987 album is funny and thought-provoking at the same time. Often imitated, never bettered... The only thing as worthy as early JAMs stuff is the first album by Pop Will Eat Itself...
