I need a prog to convert from WMA to MP3 or Wav. Can anyone help me??? Thankx
Only early versions of WinAMP (and the WMA plugin) allow you to enable the "write to disk" output when playing WMA files and can therefore convert a protected file. I think versions around 2.5 are what you need, but a web search may give you a more accurate answer. "Total Recorder" will convert anything, since it just grabs what is sent to the soundcard from any player. (http://www.highcriteria.com/) I believe there are (ahem) "fixes" to remove that nasty bug that limits the free version to 40 seconds. If you have a soundcard with SPDIF, you could output to a mini-disc, then re-encode it again without any loss of quality I guess too. Finally, if you can find a DOS program that plays WMA, then you can use VDMSound to log all soundcard output to a file also. (http://ntvdm.cjb.net) Michael
