Hi
Felt prompted to sign up to this mailing list and
reply to cyborcosis to say thanks for the remixes. Particularly the 2006 remix
of LTTT.
I wonder why you discuss your sexuality and operations
here? It seems irrelevant. If you want to do something, really want to do
something, then it’s your business, and has nothing to do with the music
that you let me hear. Good luck anyway.
I got into the KLF as a teenager, and they achieved
godlike status with me due to their image, and great music. They seemed to be a
summary of my love of the vibe of orbital/illegal raves, the pagan/illuminati
imagery, and the way they played the music industry to their own ends. Despite
the ease with which the KLF could gain commercial success, it was always the
‘underground’ trance like tracks which held my interest. Kylie in a
trance, WTIL, Chill Out, all had a certain, haunting atmosphere that I loved.
I have been lurking on this list for a month or two
and have been surprised that people are still talking about the KLF. I have
been impressed with the links that have been provided, and the music that I
have had the opportunity to hear as a result.
I would like to ask whether anyone reading the list is
planning to join gimpo next year on the 25 hour M25 drive? I am considering
this as I can understand the reasons for this yearly rotation. I think
‘artwork’ like this is what keeps the concept of the KLF alive.
As with most KLF fans, and sorry to sour the message
with scrounging, I would love to access a downloadable archive of their back
catalogue. I realise access to such a resource is probably highly sought after,
and I don’t really like to ask, but any pointers would be appreciated.
Anyway, I will continue to lurk. Everybody, lie down
on the floor and stay calm.
See you on the M25.
RiCh!
PS I couldn’t
figure out how to reply to a thread. Am I missing something?
