There is another option, which I saw mentioned on the comedy website "Chilled Cream", on a thread about "bands that don't have greatest hits but should have" - ALL the 12" mixes! This would mean restriction to the KLF, but at just under 78 minutes you could have: (1) What Time is Love (KLF4T a-side) (2) 3 AM Eternal (KLF5T a-side) (3) Kylie Said to Jason (KLF010T a-side - or preferably the KLF010R a-side) (4) Last Train to Trancentral (KLF008R a-side or b-side - take your pick!) (5) What Time is Love (KLF4X a-side) (6) 3 AM Eternal (KLF5X a-side) (7) Last Train to Trancentral (KLF8X a-side) (8) Justified and Ancient (CHOC ICE 2 a-side) (9) America: What Time is Love (Full Uncensored Version) (10) What Time is Love (Moody Boys) (KLF4Y a-side) (11) 3 AM Eternal (Rankin' Dub Version) (12) Last Train to Trancentral (Mu D Vari-Speed Version) Although, really, I think we should stick to the single edits. Remixes tend to be for a second disc, a limited edition, or another release, rather than on greatest hits themselves.

OK how about radio edits of only KLF tracks, and if there is room at the end of the disc a few remixes of the bigger hits, 3am, WTIL and LTTT or maybe a couple of LIVE versions?...................(and were off again for another lengthy debate/argument)

Totally agree. These radio edits were all created by the KLF for a reason - to grab the attention of the casual radio-listener. Remixes and dance-orientated tracks were for a different kind of audience, but single versions were purely for the non-fan FM radio/TOTP fan. And its through these we're trying to introduce Bill & Jimmy's work, working against the added obstacle that most of these edit are nearly 2 decades old.
If we're picking our own favourite tracks, then "Trance Kylie Express" (KLF010R a-side) is the one for me; (a) it's my favourite KLF pop track and is far superior to the KLF010T a-side mix, and (b) it's been grossly under-represented on bootlegs so far, particularly in comparison to some of the more monotonous, trance-like KSTJ remixes of 010R and 010RR.
... but ...
I'd rather we just put out a disc of the single edits (even if they are slightly editted by some of us to re-introduce elements from other versions).

That's what I find myself saying repeatedly... It shouldn't be a special remix, it should be the single mix. It shouldn't be Kylie In A Trance, it should be What Time Is Love. Etc.

Have we got a cut-off date for the tracklist, and a date for the release of the CD yet?
And can I just say, I really, really think we're moving too far away from the "Singles/Best Of" original idea. What we're going to end up with is a "Lost Sounds" created by committee - which is going to please no one but a few geeks. And we're doing this CD (evangelise the music, if you will) for the consumers, not ourselves. And the consumers will be casual, non-KLF-fan, ooh-I- remember-them-Tammy-Wynette-wasn't-it kind of people, who will want the singles, the novelty tracks, the laughs, anything to do with the scams, but not 15 year old remixes that means nothing to anyone under 30 and already a KLF obsessive.
Just a thought.

their favourite tracks for inclusion, which are getting pretty obscure again (Razormaid mix? surely not...)
Usually no, but I /think/ the person was talking about the Gridlock'd mix of LTTT which is perhaps the best unofficial mix of LTTT there is. And the best DJ service mix that I'm aware of.
Finally, unless i got my wires crossed, whoever uploaded that zipped compilation said they had made custom versions of the WTIL evil edit and Fuck the Millennium, but only the 'original' versions were present? Not that the evil edit should go on the CD IMO, though i am obviously a fan, but that's something else for the wiki =)
That'd be me (i think). (i was just about to clarify this and went to the wiki to check the tracklist and I see it's not correct. I didn't post that text, but I did post the compilation's zip file.)
I did /not/ modify Evil Edit at all. It's not part of my original track list, but I included it in the zip since I suggested as a replacement for WTIL:Power 7"
My own edited/modified tracks are: Whitney 7" (as there isn't one), Mad Ru 7" (edited from the 12" for sound quality. very minor differences in effects during the last 30s when compared to the original edit), WTIL:Trancentral (added on the extended ending from the US 12" for personal taste), FTM (dubbed in the "a-ha-ha KLF!" over the break because I like that bit in the Different Project mixes)
I will add this to the wiki page.
