I get what you mean, i have sampled stuff but i think the main thing is what is said after that. In 1987 all those samples they used were really blatant so you can hear they are having a laugh, nobody thinks they were trying to be abba or claiming to have written the song. On their album 'the white room' they list the samples which is very rare. What wanna p is doing is taking something that was a sample that technically makes her a part writer and claiming that she is more responsible for the success than she is and being greedy. If you sample something in music law then you pretty much stand to lose everything, one of those classic dance tracks 'm.a.r.r.s.'?? sampled something very small and the original writer went mad, as did Rolling Stones over bitter sweet symphony (i think they got 100% of the royalty), obviously bitter sweet symphony's success was hugly helped by the sample but 100%, maybe 80%. Wanna P is trying to take the lead role for a 7% short sample, that doesnt make her a lead singer and what she is saying IS bang out of order and misleading so it does matter to the people who care about this stuff. Just as you think it is important enough to post about people's angry comments.
