Hello, 's me again... Looking at last month's archive, it's good to see some old faces still here! Anyway, down to business - some news / views and questions. A little too late, I got wind of Bill's exhibition / performance of "A smell of..." at the Cornerhouse in Manchester last weekend. The tickets were (surprisingly) all sold out, but the nice lady suggested I could go see the exhibition anyway. Imagine my surprise on reaching the entrance to the gallery when Gimpo kindly held the door open for me. I've already got the book and a 1/20,000th of the photo, but it was interesting to see the exhibition, read Bill's extracts, see the photos and even surpress mild surpirse when Bill himself walked in and started talking to Gimpo about digital cameras... I was also interested in Phamphlets 16, 20 and 23 which I bagged a couple of copies of. 20 is interesting as it is the last page to the book (which appearntly isn't in the printed edition, although I've not checked). I didn't feel sad enough to say anything to Bill so studiously examined the tins of Drummond's International Grey instead whilst he was debating protable hard-drives with Gimpo. I was really keen to ask about the 7" vinyl on display too, but didn't so I'll ask here instead. In a plain black sleeve, the visible side noted it was called "Queen of the South" by Bill Drummond, released on WEA around 1986. There was also a Penkiln Burn logo on it tho'. It's not in the discog as a 7" in its own right, but is on "The Man". Anyone got any ideas what this was? I'm not around much, but will keep a sharp eye out. Cheers, NIk PS - the UK car stickers are mildly fun (even if they did cost ukp5) _________________________________________________________________ It's fast, it's easy and it's free.
