Hi guys I've not posted 4 ages and missed tonights posts about tonights Annie Mac show. However, my work colleague (who knows I'm a KLF nut) phoned me on his way back from a meeting in the Isle of Man and caught me as I entered my Local ... (pub for you all non-UK-linguistics) and told me that on an advert for tonight's show Annie Mac was doing (in his words) 'a hours show all about the KLF;'. I broke with tradition, and amazed drinking friends by leaving the church of the alcohol waaaay before any student could admit defeat, and was home by 9.05pm UK time. So I whacked the PC on, told it to record from 9:10pm and 11:10pm and what did I get after eventually coming home at (currently 5:04am) ????? Two KLF tracks, A wholly innacurate 'history' of Bill & Jimmy ('they realeased two albums, '1987' and 'Shag Times' before they decided to try commercial success and had a #1 with Doctorin the Tardis') and a good mention of The KLF being the biggest selling UK artists of 1991. The children of today need to know the TRUE story of Bill and Jimmy's exploits, if only to prove and explain to them that the Pop industry does not have defined rules. AAAnyway - I've recorded the Annie Mac show as a .wav file, and will Upload the KLF bits to Rob's server soon (If it's OK). Later in the show Annie Mac explains to a phone in person that a 'fader' controls the speed of a record being played and they have to guess wether the current tune is being 'faded' fast or slow. Personally, I've been DJ'ing on and off since 1989 and a 'fader' to me has only ever controlled the mixing of sounds. Maybe Ms. Mac should explain the pitch control, and also not skip on the truths on a band/artist's history?? I know one list member is writing a book about Bill and Jimmy etc, perhaps Radio 1 needs to spend at least 2 hours on the same subject? Andrew. Chris Peel wrote:
I'm currrently one hour into it, I think it should be on any time now - Touche's mix has just finished...
