I don't think it's entirely off topic and irrelevant.
fwiw, me neither. as you said later in the post, its much more relevant than some of the stuff posted
They blatently use KLF references in nearly every album
short story - i've got most of scooter. i occasionally play some of their stuff when i have A LOT of work to do in a very short time. i find that boosting my heart rate really works and so my collection of cds includes scooter, ultrasonic and some hardcore/gabba stuff. doesnt mean i particularly like it, just means i own the cds. the point of that story is that over time i've listened to most of scooters stuff, and whilst unable to cite any actual occurrences, i'm sure there'd be a reference to the klf somehow on every album. i think if you looked really hard, and were perhaps a little one eyed you'd find a obscure reference/link in every song. i dont like scooter enough to listen to their cds just to find all the linkage.
And I think it's more along the lines of eye-rolling here-they-go-again rather than prasie or excitement.
true. except for the standard "why do we talk about scooter" responses to any scooter posts ;-) simon: thats not a go at you but humour for the really old list members i'd personally be much happier if scooter came out and just said yeah we love the klf so we rip them off a lot. but i dont particularly care if they dont say it either. isnt it said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery anyway?
setting up scooter parties.
since we've just had an election here in oz, the media has all these stories about how some of the various political parties arent really political forces anymore. the mental image that came to mind first with "scooter parties" is very very scary. my 2cents, brendan
