They're credited as being the first (and only) group to use The Manual as a basis for releasing a hit record - and it was a hit in the UK in '88. Looking at the video (think I've seen it before once upon a time), you can see they followed the "find a cheap production studio and get all your mates in to help" mantra from the book :))

I'm not very familiar with the song, but this listening it really stood out as a WKTJ inspired track. I kept waiting for them to break out into "3 6 9 The goose drank wine...."
