I'll agree that Bush is a crappy president.  I saw the economic mismanagement before he was ever elected with the tax rebate platform he ran on.  He basically pissed away the first surplus of money US had in a VERY LONG time.  They've just been compounded with World Trade Center attack.  I'm actually surprised he's waited this long to go into Iraq.  He seemed like a e he wants to live up to his image of a cowboy.

I can't speak for Germany, but I would hardly call France's opposition principled.  Do a little research.  France has been a long time supporter of Iraq and has a great deal to lose if the US goes to war with them.  At the start of the Gulf war in 1990 Iraq owed France somewhere in the neighborhood 8 million US dollars:  money that France gave them to support Iraq's war on Iran 1980-1988.  France gets this back in the way of cheap oil and they probably feel much safer being on Saddam's good side when Iraq goes to war.  It should be no surprise why France consistently supports Iraq until Saddam screws up so bad that they can no longer deny it.

If you still think Iraq is a great place, do a little research.  You'll find that the Iraqi government tortures and murders POWs and political traitors.  In both cases these include civilian men, women, and children.  The traitors aren't the kind of that sell secrets to the enemy, but people who just speak out against the government.  The worst part is that in many cases a political traitor can simply be someone who has something Saddam's family wants: a car, land, a pretty wife.  Read about it.  It's pretty disgusting.

Maybe the KLF can reform and make a record that will bring world peace.

Subject: [KLF] Re: America: No More [OT]

You see a few bumper stickers around my corner of the US stating: "Who would
Jesus bomb?" My country is deeply divided over the prospect of war.
President Bush's approval ratings have now slipped to their lowest point
since election. Average Americans are asking, "Why Iraq? Why now?" The US
economy, once the envy of the world, has stalled and is in a tail-spin.
Unemployment is on the rise and cities are facing staggering budget crises.
What is Bush's reply to this turn of events? Bomb Iraq. Oh, and tax cuts for
the rich too. Economically, this war will hobble us.

It's good to see the world is skeptical of Bush and his motives though. I
support France and Germany's principled opposition to this war. Along with
the large anti-war protests around the globe, France and Germany have slowed
the US war machine. But now that Turkey has accepted the $14 billion dollar
bribe to allow US troops on Turkish soil, the stage is set. I encourage
people to keep speaking out against war. Please remember that another
candidate won a majority of votes in our last election. Bush does not
represent all Americans. I don't trust Bush and neither should you.

it would appear as if america has foresaken it's god

(although, as Neil Gaiman pointed out - america has probably more gods
than anywhere else in the world, and not all of them are long haired
tree hugging peace loving hippies, so maybe there's just been a shift
in the deus balance of power)
