I would like to jump in on this one, there has been so much speculation around the pure trance series over the years, but a lot of it revolves around the discography that's, lets be honest, been the bible for us collectors for years, so when something turns up that doesn't correspond with our 'bible' we're all left scratching our heads! So as a collector I am going to give my opinion on the Pure Trance series, please feel free to agree or disagree. PT 1&2 004T & 005T Are 2 trackers containing 1 long track on each side. 004R & 005R contain multiple shorter remixes. This pattern also corresponds with other KLF 'R' releases around this time e.g. 003R, 010R. I would suggest that 008R was actually originally 008T and Go to Sleep was going to be part of 008R, but because it didn't make the grade, time, issues etc. etc. they drew a line under it and released it as 008R . But where does 'The Lovers side' fit in? From the recent Deep Shit auctions there was a letter from Cress herself, that came with one of these, where she clearly states that 'the lovers side' is the follow up to 3AM eternal, so I speculate that lovers side had more to do with PT3 than PT5 so was the Lovers Side one side of Love Trance? or planned for 006R, we'll probably never know. But the person to ask would be Cress. I would agree that the original IGUN / stadium house track has something to do with Turn up the Strobe. As do the 010RR tracks (promo a/b) Kylie in a Trance remixes. 006T - Love Trance?? / The Lovers Side? 006R - Remixes? 007T - Turn up the Strobe (IGUN/Kylie in a Trance) / Track 2? 007R - Remixes? 008T - E Train (released as 008R) / Mix 2 008R - Remixes? Go to Sleep, White Room Snippet maybe? Over and Out.......... ________________________________ From: Antti Lavio <antti.lavio@possu.org> To: All bound for Mu-Mu Land. <klf@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Thursday, 7 February 2013, 16:34 Subject: Re: [KLF] One Hour With The KLF on bandcamp On 7.2.2013 16:08, Adam Stalker wrote:
it's edit version of Stadium House track that might have been Turn Up The Strobe at some point. Strobe plans were to have Lover's Side as B-Side. Since IGUN and LS share same break loop, and Turn Up The Strobe has the same number of syllables as It's Grim Up North... who knows ;)
Wasn't LS meant to be B-side of E-Train? (..or Go To Sleep, both were marked as Pure Trance 5 in old discography). But I'm supporting this theory. I kinda like to think that IGUN is a reworked version of Turn Up. Actually, I believe that bases for all planned Pure Trances were recorded (or sequenced at least) and later use for other released, example: E-Train -> Go To Sleep -> Last Train 008R -> Last Train (Stadium House) and also in Wichita Lineman (Chill Out). Some IGUN/Turn Up The Strobe snippets can also be heard on Mars (Space) and maybe also at the end of Chill Out. -- anttil. _______________________________________________ KLF mailing list KLF@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/klf Report list abuse to list-abuse at studio-nibble.com
