I always presumbed... that this was a cauty-era 'ORB' remix circa late 1989 because it was much sampled on Chill Out & a credit was given to Jesus Loves You on the back of the Chill Out album. Also many of The early ORB remixes dating back to 89/90 were labeled as 'Orbital' remixes such as the ones for Depeche Mode, Erasure , Marathon, KLF, Sun Electric, Fischerman's Friend, Dave Stewart etc. Obviously Alex P decided not use this moniker anymore when Orbital came on the scene in 1990. I have to agree though that I can't seem to find any discogs that either confirm or deny that this was actually an Orb remix .....strange :O) Also I always found this particular remix just plain BORING !!! unlike many ORB remixes of that time... Anyone got a more a definite idea ?? There is a full version of it (i.e. non-edit) on the 12" and 3" CD single. I'm presuming that it's got nothing to do with The Orb or Orbital, and is rather a comment on the house parties of the day (i.e. M25 Orbital parties, which is where Orbital got their name from)? Can anyone confirm this? l8rs, Nick ;-)
Just found a 7"record by Jesus Loves You called "After The Love". This is one of the songs that is sampled into the chillout-version of "3-am eternal". The version on the A-side (10 glorious years edit) has the same, or a nearly similar beat as 6pm-electro (haven't copared them directly yet).
The B-side is a "orbital house edit" (the reason I bought it), and my question is who did remix: a) Orbital b) Alex Patterson (the Orb) c) Alex Patterson and Jimmy Cauty (the Orb) d) Someone else
The record is from 1989, and I think this rules out Orbital. No remix-credits is given, but the style seems a bit similar to various Orb-mixes. I can't find any info of this remix in any orb discography.
