Date-wise, 26th August 1989 falls in the middle of a lot of releases, from KSTJ on 31st July (the same night the "live" version of WTIL was recorded for JAMSLP4) through to KLF5R and the original promo of "Loving U" in October. The summer/autumn of 1989 was probably Bill and Jimmy's busiest concentrated period from 1988 until 1991 - although without any commercial success! Also, it seems this was the time that Trancentral held some legendary parties (such as the one where Madrugada Eterna was first recorded, or when they all headed out to Chipping Norton on 1st October 1989) ... it seems like that mix might be a good representation of that time! I have been encoding lots of old cassettes onto my Mac and i came across a cassette that i was sent about 7 years ago from a guy i used to buy KLF records from.
This is what he wrote on the cassette:
"Dat recording of private tapes by klf/orb recorded in tracnetral on sat 26.8.89 and at a private party in the same year in brighton"
Its mainly late 80's acid house with 3am Blue Danube and A Huge Evergrowing.... as recurring themes throughout. its obviously just a DJ mix but i dont know anythign about it. some pretty poor mixing on it too! hehehe :)
i dont know if it is legit or not as i only have the cassette with the above written on it.
download it here:

anybody know anything about that date? might be interesting to try to find out what it is. unfortunately the quality is pretty poor
