well, if its even applicable to this situation.. you have to retrieve a manufacturers code.  many require a sequence of #'s to be pressed on the machine and/or remote.  i think sometimes if you do them they are permanent too.

Yeah, what about the regional coding etc etc?  First thing that came to my mind.  You can hack your dvd player to unlock all regions I think.

Is it playing on the other players/computers?

 

There can be lots of reasons why it won't play in your player - It can't handle that brand of DVD blank (some players only accept certain brands), wrong format (-R vs +R), wrong broadcast format (PAL vs NTSC vs SECAM), not a proper DVD at all, etc

 

Does it play on your PC?  And when you look at the disk contents on your PC what are the files you see?  A DVD will have a folder called VIDEO_TS.
