I became obsessed (more than a fan <g>) with them in about 1992 I reckon. I liked 3AM Eternal (the 'public' version), but never bought it. I then bought LTTT on CD single and The White Room when it came out. After that I was hooked. Basically it was all down the the discography in the White Room booklet. I thought - hmm? How come this is LP6? Where's LP1 to LP5? And what's this about "JAMS LP6" shouldn't it be KLF LP6? After that - the rest is history... I bought DLP3 and KLF005R from Probe in Liverpool and JAMS23T (James Allerton ps) from Tudor House in Chester. The rest I accumulated via mail order and record fairs until recently when I started getting them via eBay. I read up on the Pure Trance series on Lazlo's discog (first heard of the other Pure Trance's from a Record Collector article I copied when I bought JAMS23T) and I've watched the interviews on "brandnew" as well. I've got a load of original NME and Meldoy Maker cuttings which I keep meaning to put in a scrap book, as well as several full-page ads (in particular, the "KLF Have Quit" one). I even ordered KLF006T, KLF007T and KLF012T from HMV! They had appeared on their system (I think I still have the order receipts) - they wrote to me about 12 months later saying the items had been withdrawn and cancelled the order). I bought the "White Room Demos" cassette for £5 back in '93 I think - to be honest, I can understand why they scrapped the other Pure Trance's if they were anything like the demos... I know you're skeptical - and I agree that the authenticity of this current item is dubious to say the least. I also agree that any monkey with a pressing plant handy could knock out pretty much anything. *That said*, Miles sent me a CD-R of his PT3 and - I don't know - but I really do think it's genuine. I think possibly more so because of the "Monster Attack Mix" rather than "Love Trance". Impossible to say for sure though isn't it? Chris Ps, two things that intriegue me: Firstly, regarding KLF008R, was it the test presses, the w/l, or the final release that got warped? Secondly, given that "Go To Sleep" and the original LTTT share much from each other, what on earth would "E-Train To Trancentral" have sounded like? Or was that just LTTT in disguise?

Chris,
It seems I am the pope trying to spread a proper religion...
Since when did you became a KLF fan?
At the time, KLF planned 5 pure trance series. From 004T,R 005T,R 006T,R, 007T,R and 008T,R Between one, "the lovers' side" without a catalogue number.
004T, 005T and R and 008R have been test pressed also.
They planned 2000 each. Pressed on forehand 2000 sleeves and labels for the records due to low costs. Of the 008R series, only 1000 survived. Dunno how much t/p's there are, but I got one and you also, I thought. So that makes 2.
No's 1, 2 and 5 survived. No's 3 and 4 not. The reason for this was that the acid thing was going on and KLF was more into acid at that time. The making of 3 and 4 therefore was delayed and resulted in no pressings
www.brandnew.co.uk contains a few interviews with Jimmy about the pure trance series. Listen closely and you'll hear *why* they've never been pressed.
So, what happens. Some bloke gets hold of a few labels and sleeves, works at adrenalin and presses a few after hours for his own convenience. Makes a track, not KLF related at all, and sells it for quite a few bucks. Run off groove says: KLF 006 T pag adrenalin. So far I've seen 3 PT's which were 2 sided. Containing A: love trance and B: monster attack mix. Now here's a one sided....
Strange...
Hope to hear from you!
Maarten
ps I could be totally wrong!

'tis tempting tho... Anyway of telling if this is a boot? If someone was to email the seller asking if it's a bootleg and they say it's not and it turns out to be one after all - does the buyer have any legal comeback?
