It means, I know they have made a mistake, or have not spelled something
correctly, but I'm not going to change it.
For example, the title of the "Waiting for the Rights of Mu" CD is
mispelled, so people might say "Waiting for the Rights (sic) of Mu" (it should
be "Rites"). Also, on that CD's sleeve it states the following of the
"Waiting" Jura trip: "It happened in June 1980". Of course, it was
actually June 1990. So, again, someone who knows this is wrong would put
"(sic)" afterwards, even though this time it's a factual error rather than a
spelling error.
