google indexes the mailman archives of this list - so you can search the archive using google (include "site:mailman.xmission.com" in your search terms to restrict the results to pages at xmission)

does that mean the spammers can then get it with crawlers? i've recently had a surge in spam (from nothing! to multiple a week increasing) and trying to determine where the address got out. thanx brendan
